Dr. Young has PA roots, having grown up close by in the East Stroudsburg area. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Lafayette College with a B.S. in Biology and a Minor in Mathematics, Dr. Young received his D.M.D. at Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University. During his time at Temple, Dr. Young was awarded the Dean’s Scholar 3 times and was a member of the Oral Surgery Honors Society, Systemic Review Honor Society, and the Honors Oral Surgery Team. Dr. Young stayed in Philadelphia after graduation and entered the 4-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at Thomas Jefferson University. He joined the Berks Oral Surgery + Dental Implant Center team in 2022.
Dr. Young’s training included practicing full scope oral and maxillofacial surgery, taking primary/secondary call responsibilities in Level I and Level II trauma centers, and completing rotations in Anesthesia, Hospital Medicine, General Surgery, and Craniofacial Surgery, and he contributes to research in our field. He has volunteered his services to Mom-n-Pa, an organization that provides free dental care to those in need, and embarked on a weeklong Haiti dental mission trip to provide dental services to underserved areas of Haiti. He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Delaware Valley Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and Delaware Valley Academy of Osseointegration, and he is Board Eligible for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Certification.
Outside of oral surgery, Dr. Young has interests in sports, including soccer, ultimate frisbee, weightlifting, and skiing. He also enjoys woodworking, landscaping, and photography.
